Default Old Player Returning

As the title says i am an old player returning to the great game of guild wars.I have all the chapters so far. On my old characters i had money problems and couldnt get any skills/armor/or weapons when the new chapters came out. My questions is what profession would be the most beneficial for me to create to go through the game and for farming aswell?

I appretiate all who answer and read. Thanks.

Necro/anything (I like Ritualist as a secondary)

People show disdain for Factions but it is the easiest to make gold in at earlier levels, plus getting to 20 is a snap.

I took my latest character to Elona round level 15 after doing all the quests and Missions on the starter island.

Been having a blast in Elona progressing through the story....I'll go back to Cantha later...or perhaps this weekend for some 3x Green drops.

Necro for farming and getting through the game. Mesmer is also good for farming but will be harder for you to get through the game.

While relitively expensive to set up as a farmer, a Monk has no problem filling a PvE/PvP/Farming role. Naturally all the builds are all different, but once you get rolling it can be a fairly fun and rewarding character.

Actually the price to setup an monk for farming as been reduced dramaticly, 3 out of the 4 superior runes have dropped from around 7 - 8 kish (and even more at times) to arond 500g - 1k.

also the +5 energy swords/axes are very easy to get: even possible through a free collector in nightfall for a +5 energy machete. (and why do I still use this, because it puts you at melee distance when you hit attack, so you can do the tanking easy) A +20% longer enchantment mod for it can be found for around 15k-20k

if your looking for a +5 energy axe, just go buy the one in amnoon oasis (=2k) from the weaponsmith (=max dmg, but this actually doesn't matter) and look for a longer enchantment mod for axe (around 10-15k)

And even with the inscription system in nightfall you can almost make any nightfall skin with an inscription slot having a +5 energy inscription

But for more info about farming in general: you can find that in the specific farming threads on this board too.

I would suggest a Necro/Monk. 2 reasons: 1 Soul reaping can keep your energy up, 2 minions although you can only have a max of 10 now they still can make a great army.

Since when are necros the farmers?

Sure spoil victor or SS .. but ..

No one has heard of an E/A or A/E ?
Shadow form? Sliver Armor?
Maybe most have forgotten ... Spoil victor is buried deep in Kurzick territory .. but where is Shadow Form? Right outside Zin Ku Corridor.

I was wondering why I see 50 A/E E/A combinations and 4 N/Mo .. it's because of the farming Necros!!

My bad.

I would check the complete list of builds in farming forum that may help you out.

Necro if you have Factions; Minion Master running missions makes a packet.
The 130hp Dervish is also pretty good.

Any character can be set up to farm pretty well anything. If you are truly interested in making cash, go and read the farming forums, chek out all the different builds, not just the necro farm builds.

There is some type of farming build for pretty much every character class, so my suggestion is make whichever character you think would be the most fun to play with and the character that you like the armor choices/appearance, and then find a farming build for it.
